We had breakfast early with the standard Nica breakfast and our own fresh pineapple. They are so delicious. Then we packed all our stuff and walked down the road to the intersection. We knew the price for a taxi from our trip the other day but the problem was that today was a Monday morning which meant almost no taxis and the ones that passed by wanted ridiculous money like USD 25-30 to take us to the place we wanted to go ziplining. It was not that far away so we tried our luck with the cars that passed by and at the end one of the drivers agreed to USD 20.
It turned out the ziplining place was almost 45 minutes of driving away, so the price was pretty fair. We met our guide from our volcano tour at the ziplining place - Vladimir. He was happy to see us again. Then we left our luggage in a storage room, signed up, geared up and went up the mountain in a 4x4 to the start of the first zipline.
For the next hour we ziplined from tree to tree. Us, two local guys and three guides. The ziplining included the option to "Superman", go upside down and other funny tricks. Great with some entertainment in the morning - on a Monday.
Once back at the office we got our backpacks and walked back to the main road asking for directions to the Managua bus. It arrived less than 5 minutes later and within an hour we were in Managua and taken directly to the connecting bus to Leon. It turned out to be a minibus - even one they didn't pack with passengers, so we had a comfortable 1½ hour ride to Leon. If only all overland travel was this easy. In the Leon they was a crowd of bicycle taxis waiting for us so we had two of them taking the three of us and all our luggage to the hostel. It was a warm afternoon in Leon, so once we got our room we dumped our backpacks there and headed for the nearest cafe and had smoothies. For dinner we found a place that served good meat and cold beers in a small courtyard. Leon is definitely a nice place it seems.
