Slow morning at the yurts

We had a half day to relax at the yurt place before heading to Samarkand. Most people enjoyed the sun, read a book or slept a bit longer to get over the vodka from last night.

Of yeah and then there was the challenge for Allison, the staff member from Dragoman's office in UK, to put up a tent and take it down again. She hadn't put up one of Drago's tents for years and she was kind of sad there was no camping on her par of the trip. So we made a sweepstake on how fast she would be with no instructions and only a pair of helping hands at two certain times. Big applause first off all for her accepting the challenge and then for actually getting the tent up and down. It didn't get into the bag though and it took longer than 45 minutes which was the max. we set for the challenge so everybody got their money back.

It was a bit of a bumpy ride to Samarkand so Malene didn''t feel too good. Most people including us went out for pizza just for a change from the local food we eat most of the time and since Malene was a bit tired after the driving she wanted us to have our own table. But that plan was changed after we got help from a local women to translate the Uzbeki menu. Afterwards she asked if we could practise a bit English with her 15 year old son who was learning English and if we wanted to join their table. Of course we said yes. The mother spoke really good English she's an English teacher and former guide so it was an opportunity to actually speak a bit more than just exchanging "where are you from"-questions. A fantastic meal with a very sweet family We really enjoyed it.

Almost there - no the tent isn't on the upper pole
Why doesn't it fit
Is it Superman? No it's a bird
