Ahead of us was a yurt stay today in Nurata the desert. Along the way we stopped a few places.
First at a ceramic place. Unfortunately one of the touristed ones where it's mostly a shop. For lunch we had a nice meal at a private family in their garden. Where we also saw how they were sewing patterns in carpets, pillow cases etc. After lunch we stopped at the Nurata Mosque to visit the holy lake/river with holy carpes and we climbed a hill to see the view of the town. In the late afternoon some of us had a swim in a lake -which we shared with a few cows - before coming to our yurt place.
The yurt place was super nice with around 20 yurts, These yurts were big tents with plenty of space to stand up in. They had room for 4 people but they could easily fit more.
We were offered to try a short camel ride which was very nice in the sunset.
We had a nice dinner at the yurt place with plenty of vodka. The amount of vodka they drink in Uzbekistan must definitely be a left over from the Russians. In every restaurant you see people drinking vodka. And not just one glass you buy half a liter. After dinner they lit the fire place outside, there were a bit of music and dancing around the fireplace. And for some people the evening got very blurred from the vodka.
