We didn't have to hurry this morning. The tide determines when you leave the island and we were waiting for slack. Instead we could sit on our very own look out point and enjoy whales, white tipped dolphins, porpoises and orcas going up and down the strait in front of us.
We finally packed the kayaks with all the stuff and left for our next destination - the opposite site of the bay. The morning was quiet and there was a lot of birds on the water but no whales. But just being there in the kayaks and quietness - that was wonderful. Eventually we set course for our next camp at Swanson Island. As we came around a spit the incoming tide caught us and we had to fight our way forward, paddling as hard as we could because the currents were so strong.
After lunch we headed out to see some wildlife and did a full loop around Swanson Island. This afternoon was whale free. Nothing to see or hear so the food is probably somewhere else. We made a nice camp fire on the beach this evening and enjoyed yet another beautiful camp.
