Today was a very special day - Malene's birthday. We didn't have any plans for the day - other than to relax. Which Port McNeill is perfect for.
Mikkel had been handed over a big bag of birthday cards and presents from Steen before he left, so before Malene got up Mikkel made sure everything was in place on the breakfast table.
And then Karen cooked breakfast for us while Malene started opening up birthday cards and presents. A lot of candy/liquorice it turned out. And many other good things.
We walked downtown and hung out there most of the day - in the marina enjoying the sunshine.
Originally we wanted to go out for dinner at one of the local places but we couldn't really find one that seemed nice, so we ended up walking home, having sushi on the patio again. And then finishing off soaking a bit in the hot tub looking for shooting stars - the days around the 12th are THE days to watch shooting stars but - after 5 minutes the clouds covered the whole sky. Didn't matter we still had a wonderful day.
