Last day in Santiago

We did a super city walk in Valparaiso - and knew there was a similar one in Santiago. A morning walk - three hours of the off-beat parts of town. It turned out to be great. Our French-Canadian-moved-to-Santiago guide did a great job taking us around town to the fish market, a couple of the bigger markets and the impressive El Cementerio General - the final stop being Allende's tomb and memorial. And then a short story about the history of the coup and Chile up until today. Very good indeed.

We had lunch at the fish market, complete with a small earthquake - Jes' first. Then we bought some fish for dinner, went home and unloaded our shopping. Malene still wanted to go for the outdoor shop we missed the other day, so we took the metro there. Jes and Mikkel had cold beer at a local bar while Malene went shopping for "just 5 minutes". Then we walked back towards Bellas Artes, stopping for another drink on the way.

For dinner we had a fabulous meal with lots of fish and seafood. The rest of the evening was used for packing our stuff. We're leaving for San Pedro de Atacama at 5 AM tomorrow.
