The day begun with visits to two markets. Unfortunately we didn't have much time because we had a long drive ahead of us to go to lake Karakol and a yurt camp.
The first market was with live stock - cows, sheep, camels and goats. We didn't see much bargaining and the market seemed to pick up when we left. Trucks after trucks arrived with animals. The next market was with everything in clothes, home supplies and food.
After lunch we drove through an arrid and hilly
area. In some ways the scenery was boring but on the other side fascinating and wild. The Chinese are also building everywhere in their own country so they're were constructing a new road and a power plant next to road we were on.
We arrived at the yurts in the evening. They were at 3600 meter and let's just say it was cold and windy and the weather didn't appeal to do any walks or outdoor activities. We got a basic meal with rice and the only exciting thing in the evening was when the weather changed a bit. The sky turned blue some places, the sun came out, and there was steam coming from the lake and the mountains. Fascinating. But soon the sun went down and we went to sleep with all clothes on, in the
sleeping bag and with a blanket on.
