Staying lazy - and a short walk to Popoyo "town"

Everybody needed to chill a bit this morning. Some of the new arrivals felt a bit hung over after a long day of travelling and now staying at windy Popoyo. We did wake up a couple of times during the night we the wind gusts made the whole roof rattle a bit.

Apart from the wind, the place was perfect. 5 minutes and we were at the beach and literally in the water. Magnific rock has a great restaurant and bar. The prices are quite high from a Nicaraguan perspective but the food is good and sitting in the restaurant the views of the ocean are amazing. So we sat there in the morning sun and had our breakfast and just hung out a bit.

Later in the morning we decided to walk to Popoyo town - following the beach for around 40 minutes, managing to cross the river at low tide and not getting out clothes too wet. We walked up and down the small road which is Popoyo town and found a place that did freshly squeezed juice before heading back to a local restaurant for lunch.

Back on the beach heading for our hostel we realised that the tide had come up during our short stay in the town. That also applied to the small river so some of us got a bit wet from crossing the river. Not a big problem though - sunshine and 28 degrees and a bit of wind means instant drying.

A swim, a few beers for sunset - on the beach - and then nice dinner and some more drinks. We're looking forward to more days like this. It's perfect. Maybe we should start tomorrow with an early morning swim in the ocean. Why not?
