Relaxing some more - and looking at beautiful butterflies

At some point you must be done relaxing - we haven't quite made it to that point yet. We managed to have a quiet morning again, spent a bit of time Skyping the family at home. At 10 we headed to town and met with Claire - one of the girls from the horse back riding trip a couple of days ago.

She was leaving for Quito in the afternoon but we persuaded her to join us for a walk to one of the butterfly farms outside of town. The lady selling us tickets told us it was a short walk - in reality it turned out to be a little more than 45 minutes of walking but we enjoyed it. The countryside around Mindo is really beautiful and quiet.

We got to the butterfly farm and had a short introduction to butterflies and their life cycle and where then allowed inside the big butterfly house that they have being able to walk around and have a look at butterflies in the big garden. Ranging from small to gigantic there were at least 15 different kinds of butterflies flapping around including a complete exhibition of butterfly larvae and cocoons. And the best part was the option to dip the fingers in ripe, mashed banana and then having a butterfly to land on your finger to eat some of the delicious banana.
