Chilling in Panama city

We had a lazy morning. Having been to the super market yesterday we had good and healthy breakfast with fresh fruits, cereal and yoghurt. A nice chance from all the mornings with bread and eggs at San Blas.

We spent the rest of the morning doing practical stuff including laundry of some very smelly clothes from San Blas and beyond. Mikkel had to download some student assignments since he was going to grade them later in December, so didn't leave the hostel until after noon and then walked back to Casco Viejo and spending an hour walking around there looking at the fancy renovated houses and buildings, the not so fancy places and the ruins of old buildings. There is a lot of "Havana" atmosphere to the whole place and it is nice to walk around there.

We headed home after a small lunch at the fish market and packed all our clean clothes and other stuff. For dinner we had managed to get hold of everything you need for "hakkebøffer" - Danish hamburger patties and all the sides including the dark rye bread as well as pickled, sliced beetroot. So we did the big cooking and realised we had so much food that we could easily serve some for our host - Pascal. So we ended up having dinner with him and hear his interesting story about having business, hostels and just living in South- and Central America. It was very interesting to get an insiders story to some of these places.

Leaving for Santa Catalina tomorrow morning with the early morning bus - well not so early, but still early though.
