Cuenca city walk

We had a slow start to the morning. It was nice to hang out in the lounge for breakfast and it felt right to be slow after yesterdays long bus ride. Being Sunday we already knew that most of the city would be closed.

It was close to 12 when we left the hostel, very few cars in the streets. We headed for the cathedral and had a look at it from the inside, listening a bit to the Sunday mass. Then we headed for the river and the other side of town. Once we got to the river the weather decided to rain. So we headed for the nearest dry place and stood outside a closed cafe as the water poured down. Once the weather cleared we moved on, had a bit of lunch at a cafe next to river when the next shower started. Perfect day to just stroll around. We did a loop of the city, a bit of shopping and then relaxed at the hostel after some four hours of Cuenca city sightseeing.

Being Sunday or hostel turned out to be closed so instead of hanging out in the lounge we had to find a place for dinner in the otherwise closed town. Local food for USD 10 for two persons doesn't really break the budget but it doesn't take any culinary awards either. Nice day in our own pace though.
