Going South to Sucre

We had booked a morning flight to go to Sucre this morning. Originally we didn't plan to stay long in Bolivia but for a number of reason we stayed a bit longer. Meeting a few other travellers, Sucre, sounded like a nice place to go to.

There is an option to go there by night bus for around 250 BOB or by domestic flight for around 600 BOB. Bus 11 hours, flight 45 minutes. Easy decision. We knew the way to El Alto back and forth so it was just the waiting time for a delayed taxi that was slightly annoying. On the other hand he got told to hurry us to the airport - our first short flight through traffic this morning.

The plane was a bit delayed but our pilot did the best to catch up with delay by really pushing it through a lot of clear sky turbulence. Maybe the most impressive flight we've had on this trip being able to look down on the desert landscape and mountains - and definitely the most bumpy. We made it on the ex-Air New Zealand 737 to Sucre which must be the worlds smallest airport in a Capital City anywhere.

Taxi to the hotel and then walk around for a bit getting some food for lunch. We found the market and bought veggies for our salad tonight - and lots of "palta" of course. Then we headed home to relax. After all that what's Sucre is supposed to be. A week staying at the same place - and we really have found a nice place with a really nice room.

Wait - there is a Sunday market in a village nearby tomorrow from 6 in the morning. Sound tempting. Must remember to relax also.

All packed and ready to leave

Nice to know who owned the plane previously
