Ready for breakfast at - well a bit late. We weren't in any hurry today. The agreement was to do a quiet and relaxed day after all the days of travelling by motorcycle, train and bus. Sapa is quite a good place to do that. Our hotel didn't serve breakfast but we found good breakfast at one of the restaurants sitting outside and enjoying the morning sun. Malene walked around town after breakfast, Mikkel being the lazy one heading back to bed. In the afternoon we found the perfect spot - a small cafe a bit away from the town centre where we could sit on their patio facing the country side and just enjoy good local food and the views. And that's how we spent most of the day.
A last activity was to find a place with decent coffee - something they don't excel in here. All other places in Vietnam seems to have nice coffee but not Sapa. Mikkel had a coffee last night that tasted like molten plastic cup, and this morning was also so-so. Hillside cafe next to where we live turned out to do great cappuccino - and a bit later in the afternoon they also turned out to have great chilled white wine - and a bit later they also turned out to do a big plate of cold cuts, cheeses, bread and more white wine. So that's one relaxed day in Sapa for us. Hiking tomorrow from 9:30 AM. Back to "normal".
