Leaving for Redmond

This morning we left for Redmond. A more or less full day of driving since we decided to do a lunch stop in Bend. We had booked a stay at a AirBNB house in Redmond so we had plenty of time to get there knowing there would be a room and a bed waiting for us.

We said goodbye to Vicki and Denny and headed east through the farm areas - Mikkel enjoying the views of all the fields that had been harvested. All yellow and golden. Then we crossed the mountains, saw the leftover from some of the big wild fires, had a short stop at the Detroit Dam and realised just how much lower the water level was compared to earlier. This year must have been exceptionally dry.

Then we headed to Bend, picked up some food for lunch at the supermarket, went to the park next to the river and relaxed. Malene wasn't happy with the temperature - it was way too cold for her. Hoping for warmer weather tomorrow. Bend was busy due to the Labour day weekend so we also had a chance to go to the local market.

Redmond was only 20 minutes away and we found our AirBNB house - and were really sceptical. The location was not what we had hoped for at all. Next to shops and a parking lot, busy road, no garden to hang out in. Inside it looked perfect though.

We went to down town Redmond (400 yards of nice main street), found Wild Ride Brew, got beer and enjoyed the evening sunshine.
A bit more walking around town to look for another place for food, we found another brew pub, then headed back to our house. Not so bad though.
