Bishkek - quiet city walk

First thing to do today was laundry. A lot. A whole lot. Went there and with the help of Google translate we tried to make sure that our woollen clothes wouldn't get machine washed, 60 degrees and then tumble dried like the rest of our clothes probably would. Fingers crossed we left, went back to the hotel, before heading out for a nice walk with David and Carl.

We went to a couple of shopping malls before getting local food at a cafe. Then some more walking in the city centre to see the monuments and official buildings getting a feel for the city. It is laid back and really green with trees and parks everywhere. We found the recommended coffee place and had expensive coffee and cake there before heading back to pick up laundry. Everything was ok when we got it.

Back to hotel to spend the afternoon planning some of the trip details for Canada with Fiona. She's not only from Vancouver but also a travel agent. She had lots of good input about Vancouver, Jasper, Banff and the surrounding areas. We still have more than two months to go with the trip through China and Mongolia but it is also nice to see the Canada trip materialise and maybe book some of the hostels around Jasper which get booked out early.

Quiet evening. Everybody getting ready for tomorrow being back on the road again or getting ready to leave the trip.

Lots of laundry

Will we see our laundry again?
