Oil city and old town

When you say Azerbaijan you say oil. In 1901 Baku produced more than half of the world's oil! And names as Nobels and Rotschild are connected to the city. From our hotel room we have a view over the ocean and the oil fields. No doubt there's money in Baku. With expensive cars, glittering buildings and high end shopping it's easy to feel like a bum in this city.

So instead of mingling with all the richies we decided to walk around old town with a couple of the others from the group. We rented audio guides so we got a bit of knowledge of the different buildings like the Maiden Tower, the hamam, some of the mosques and Palace of the Shirvanshahs.
